Patients without enough suitable bone in their jaw to support implants can also have a bone graft. Much like a sinus lift, this procedure involves taking a piece of bone and placing it into the jaw to strengthen it and prepare it for an implant fitting.
Your dental surgeon will add the bone to the deficient area, encouraging new bone growth to take place, increasing bone density in the area. This process can take several months, significantly lengthening the implant process.
However, some patients without sufficient bone density may be suitable for “all-on-four” or “all-on-six” same day teeth or zygomatic implants without the need for a bone graft.
